Why?
Grape produces Annie Mac and Pete Tong’s Friday night shows, as well as Radio 1’s Dance Anthems on a Saturday. We are regularly tasked with producing live event radio shows, and in 2018 Radio 1 celebrated its 23rd year of broadcasting from the White Isle. Therefore they wanted an exhilarating and topical event, representing the very best in dance music.

How?
We tweaked the usual format and used the Mambo studio as the 'hub' of the event - handing back and forth to the stage set up on the rocks in front of the sea. This ensured the on-air listen incorporated measured radio links, instead of only stage links to the crowd, therefore giving the overall programme more depth and soul.
With Grape producing most of the on air hours across the weekend, we assembled an exciting line up with some of the biggest names across electronic music, working closely with the R1 and Mambo teams to deliver an unforgettable weekend of broadcasting.
